Brunch: Spice Market

The Spice Market has consistently been one of our favourite restaurants to dine in, whether it be for a happy hour, a fancy meal or for a brunch, Spice Market is one of THE best places to engorge in Asian Fusion food. (A close second behind Hakkasan, in our opinion)

The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, especially for a brunch, it has more of a sophisticated feel to it being dimly lit with lanterns, it definitely is set apart from other brunches that scream "lets all get wasted!"

If you are opting for the alcohol version, the selection of drinks are fantastic; one of the few places that has beer included in the price, you can also chose between still and fizzy wine, and a choice of a Ginger Margarita or Kumquat Mojito. If a number of people in your party are drinking the same cocktail, a jug is brought to the table, so there is no waiting for a refill!

Talking about not moving from the table.... waiters also bring around a number of tasters, one of our favourites is the Mongolian Lamb Satay, it is just heaven!  If you enjoy sushi, the W is renowned in Doha for having some of the best; and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the brunch sushi was in no way compromised, due to being produced in mass!

Sushi Selection
There is a station for freshly cooked seafood (they do it in front of you), a station to create your own duck pancakes as well as pad thai. Along with precooked curry, rice and noodle stations, what more could you want from an Asian Fusion brunch?  Oh yes........ Dessert!

The dessert selection was divine! Have you ever spotted full carrot or chocolate mud cakes at brunch before? Or deep fried ice cream? It was simply heaven!
Delish dessert... Chocolate Fountain, Deep Fried Ice Cream & Profiteroles
The only thing that we found disappointing was the fact that there was no breakfast selection... after all what is Brunch without the Br? And you definitely have to be in the mood to eat Asian food, but that goes without saying really, as there is not a lot else to choose from.

If you are reading this from the UK, why not try out the spice market brunch on a Sunday in London? Click here to see which tasty dishes are being served near you!.

To finish the blog off, here are a few piccies from the brunch this weekend....

  1. One of my fave brunches too... I also like the one at the Marriott by the airport... have you been to that one?
