Gold Finger: China Glaze

Yesterday I met the lovely Rosalyn from Dream Days, and her metallic nails inspired me to try one of my polishes that has been sitting in the bottom of my nail art box, unopened for a couple of months now!  It is not my usual go to colour, but as hers looked so nice, I thought I would give it a go.
The said bottle is by China Glaze: Rare & Radiant. The colour has a greeny-gold tone, and in the bottle has connotations of 'underwater'. However on the nails it appears a little lighter.  It is very easy to apply, and dries pretty quickly.  The photo below is after two coats of polish and without a top coat.

The colour has lasted well, but could really do with a top coat to stop the scratchy effect. There are however no chips.  I'm still not convinced about the colour, as I said, it's not my usual colour choice, I prefer the darker look of Rosalyns nails, but I would wear it again for an outfit match. I have also seen pics online where the shade is darker with another coat.
Here you can see the scratchy effect on some of the nails.
What do you think? Have you tried China Glaze before?

Much love,

  1. Looks pretty good to me. :)
P.S. I can't paint my own nails if my life depended on it. I'm always jealous of those who can do it themselves and do not require expert help hence, saving loads of moolah. :p

    1. I always manage to paint one hand just fine, but the other is a shambles! Shaping my nails is another issue all together haha! Thanks for reading <3 xx

  2. I love it. Do you think it would be darker over a coat of black? Thanks for linking me x

    1. Thats a really good idea, I've only really ever thought it put a white base coat under to make it brighter, never thought of black! Will have to give it a go, thanks hun. And ah no worries at all! x
