Coffee Scrub*

With the heat rising, I'm not sure about you but my skin is becoming reminiscent of the Sahara Desert; dry, chapped and flakey. I've mentioned before that my skin care regime is not at its best, but I have never known my skin look so dehydrated.

My instagram feed is littered with Coffee Scrubs and their ability to reduce cellulite, however I have never really looked into all of their properties and benefits until I was gifted 'The Coffee Scrub'* in Coconut by Beautepop. They have a similar one available at the moment by Body Blendz.

I have to say I don't really suffer overly with cellulite, however stretch marks are the bane of my existence. So I am hoping that it might fade these the same way it claims to fade cellulite. **Here's hoping anyway!**

So why are coffee scrubs taking the market by storm? My mission.... to find out!

The coffee grounds are infused with oils and antioxidants which help to neutralise the effects of aging, drying and dead skin - PERFECT! Sounds good so far! The coffee exfoliates the skin to help remove residual dirt and give you a fresher, younger and more moisturised appearance.

The smell upon opening the package was delicious, I am so glad I opted for the coconut flavour, I am such a sucker for anything coconut! **Dreaming of holidays**

The packaging wasn't really thought through very well I have to say, I opted to put the two recommended handfuls into a little bowl to take into the shower. I didn't want my wet hands flooding the packet. I rubbed the concontion into my skin in circular motions, and instantly my skin felt hydrated as the oils were released from the coffee grains. After leaving for around 2 mins, I began rising.

Now here lays the problem, it was a little bit tricky to rinse off all the coffee, I tried my very best to get it all off without scrubbing in an effort not to get rid of all the delicious smelling oils, but alas... my skin was destined to be stained by the coffee that day! Ah well it gave me a bit of a tanned look!

It is recommended to use the scrub a couple of times a week, and with the way it left my skin feeling, I will absolutely be incorporating this into my beauty regime.

So if you too wish to stain your skin with coffee, smell delightful and most importantly keep your skin hydrated, pop on over to Beautepop to bag yourself one of their coffee scrubs.

{Ingredients: Atlantic Sea Salt, Avocado Oil, Coffee Arabica, Epsom Salt, Shea Butter, Turbinado Sugar, Vitamin E, Grapeseed Oil, Rosemary, Leaf Extract, Coconut Extract}

What are your daily beauty regimes? Have you tried any coffee scrubs and what are your thoughts?

Much love,

  1. So THIS is why I keep seeing people covered in coffee on Insta!

    Very good review - it's made me want to hop in the shower and whip out my body scrub. Definitely don't take this step as often as I should do either! x
