NYFW '15 Review

Whether your into your haute couture or not.. you cant escape the impact the high end designers have on the clothes we wear! The Spring Summer collections are being revealed and the rich and famous will be picking the styles and designs they love and planning their outfits for as soon as spring breaks.

The couturiers & designers are setting the trends - literally - and everyone in the fashion world is watching, including the high street stores and more affordable online retailers! So whether you are lucky enough to bag the real macoy or like us at Pearl & Peach will be eagerly watching to see what we can expect to be bagging next!

NYFW marks the beginning of the SS15 (Spring/Summer 2015) collections. Next up is London Fashion Week 12th Sept- 22nd Sept and then the EAGERLY awaited Paris Fashion Week 23rd Sept - 1st Oct. Paris is the pinnacle of fashion weeks with the creme de la creme of designers - expect Celine, Chanel, Givenchy, Kenzo and MORE.

So we have posted beautiful photos of the best dressed girls attending the shows - find that post here.

We have watched all the shows of our favorite designers and gone through the highlights of the designers we hadn't heard of before... to bring to you our favourites from our selected SS15 collections and a couple of "looks for less" options!

BCBG Max Azria
Max Azria is a Tunisian designer who established the brand BCBG Max Azria in 1989. The letters BDBG come from the french phrase "bon chic, bon genre," meaning "good style, good attitude".

His Spring Summer collection was an accent of rose nudes with some splashes of  pastel blues. Some had a very japanese-esk look to them. We just loved, the 'origami' front to this jacket. An easy achievable look!
Jacket : House of Celeb Boutique for £80.00 (QR473)
Boots: Charlotte Russe ordered from US via Amerex for $35 (Qr127)
Skirt: Lookbook stores $19 (QR69)
Team with your favorite nude lip, we picked NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cytere.

Coach
Now you may know Coach as a handbag and leather goods company, It is so much more. It was founded in 1941, in a loft on Manhattan's 34th Street, New York City. They have focused on leather goods; hand bags, shoes and leather additions are prominent through out their collection. They have a new executive creative director, Stuart Vevers who has worked with Givenchy and Mulberry before.

The collection was slightly wacky with bursts of bright colours. Leather minis in yellows and pinks and teamed with graphic printed T-shirts. It's safe to say there's going to be some fun additions to the fashion world during the spring!

Jacket: River Island for £100 (QR592)
Fur Gilet: Topshop for £65 (QR384)
Pale pink skirt: River Island for £25 (QR148)
  Lilac mini skirt : Missguided.co.uk for £14.99 (QR88)
Neon mini Skirt: Missguided.co.uk for £17.99 (QR106)
T-shirt: Popular Demand at House of Tre Li for  £44.99 (QR266)
Wedges- River Island for £45 (QR266)

Alexander Wang
Leading the way in Fashion and specialising in urban designs, Alexander Wang is one of our favourite designers. This collection started with monochrome beautifully tailored suits and shirts, colour was then quickly injected  to his collection with these little numbers below.

*ALERT*
Return of body con dresses! They didn't go far but Alexander has secured them well into 2015!

Blue dress: House of Celeb Boutique for $156 (QR568)
Orange Dress: House of Celeb Boutique for $165 (QR600)
Shoes:  Miss KG by Kurt Geiger for £75 (QR444)

Victoria Beckham
So obviously when we think about Victoria Beckham, some instantly think of Posh Spice or of her handsome other half, David... However Victoria is, and has been a big time influence in fashion since 2008!

She oozes elegance and her collections are exactly that! Colours didn't stray very far from nude and had a very office style feel to the designs. She also added some fun, big print flowers into the mix. We're so pleased to see flatforms again, would hate to think we bought them this summer for only one season!
Trench coat: Zara for £95 (QR545)
Satchel: Cambridge Satchel Company for £130 (QR768)
 Flatforms: Boohoo.com  for £25 (QR147)

Milly
Milly is an American fashion company specializing in women’s clothing that was founded by fashion designer Michelle Smith. Milly has been around since 2000 and is often worn by many celebrities including Beyonce!

Milly's collection is full of monochromes, which we saw so many fashionistas attending the shows wearing. Check out our 'Best Dressed' attendees blog post here. Milly featured lots of sheer paneling and mesh. It wasn't all black and white, royal blue and playful pastels were in full swing... We love monochrome but have to say our heart lies with pastel shades during in the summer months!

Bomber Jacket: House of Celeb Boutique for £65 (QR384)
Mesh Skirt: Forever 21 for $24.80 (QR87)
Turban: ASOS for £10 (QR60)

Oscar de la Renta
Oscar De La Renta is a pioneer in the fashion world. He worked for Elizabeth Arden and then proceeded to make his own 'ready to wear' and haute couture label. He has worked creating gowns for fashion giants Balmain and continues in his 80's to dress the stars.

His SS15 pieces featured lots of cut out white and colourful floral pieces. There was large gingham theme as well as lots of softer pastel hues running through. In the outfit below we went for a more 'wearable' colour in grey. Harriet owns this beautiful jersey coat and it looks so great on her!

Jersey Print Coat  Topshop : for  £75 (QR500)
Skirt: Missguided.co.uk for £25 (QR150)
Crop Top: Topshop for £8 (QR50)

*Please bare in mind that the prices are only a guide and if buying in Qatar, we find up to 30% can be added on to the online price, in chains such as Topshop. If you order online from UK, Aus or US this can save you money.*

These are only a few of the looks and how they can translate to the cheaper fashion items on the high street. There were so many styles on the catwalks, so there is something for everyone.

Here are a few other designers that featured..

Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is known for some pretty outrageous styles and prints and this collection is no different. Very psychedelic!

Elizabeth and James

Taking comfy casuals and making them look polished! The mesh trend continues. Love the comfy knit wear and the dungarees are too cute!

Elie Tahari

Linen galore! Its got that "thrown together" look that would take most people an age to construct. The laid back cozy looks, are perfect for days out.

Nanette Lepore

These pastel delicate prints are screaming spring and will suit so many people! We love the idea of teaming those jazzy pants with some funky heels and our signature crop tops. The co-ords are reassuring to see as we have definitely welcomed them as a wardrobe regular! Oo silky!

Nicole Miller

Woo-hoo the tropical print lives to tell another day! Love the loud blazer and our favourite style A-Line midi skirts!

Well New York Fashion Week looked amazing and due to the technology, watching online has never been easier. Check this link out if you want to replay any

We also love Gia Ventolas designs, check out our post on her here.

Now we just have to get through the winter months before all the stores launch there Spring Summer Collections in the new year.

Next up London and Paris! Stay Tuned.
