This week, Pearl & Peach were invited to use the Grand Hyatt Spa, which was absolutely amazing (our review will be up shortly) but after spending hours in the sauna & steam room, my face became a little pimply and needed some serious TLC!
So last night, after work, while everyone else was out for the weekend, I decided to have my own little party, get on my PJ's, stick on American Horror Story and relax with a face mask. Hardcore I know! Not having any store bought face masks at home, I decided to use what I already had in the cupboard to make my own. Which in all honestly is not a lot! I went in search of D.I.Y face masks on the internet, and only really had the ingredients for this one, but it worked so well , I thought I would share with you!
Mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder with 2 teaspoons of honey, slap it on your clean, dry face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Wash off thoroughly with warm water, and splash your face with cold water to seal your pores. Your skin will be silky smooth, and the cinnamon actually dries up pimples, de-clogs pores and rejuvenates the skin. If you find you like this mask, use it once a week for best effects, too often will dry up your skin and cause irritation.
Apparently you can leave this paste on overnight if your skin is particularly irritated, but I found that when left settled for too long, the honey started to drip down my face, so really I imagine you would end up with a pretty messy pillow case!
I love a DIY face mask, I always find that they work best! Great post x
